Mission:
"Reduce underage drinking in Pierce County"
Pierce County Leadership for Alcohol-Free Youth is a coalition of educators, prosecutors, police, parents, students, medical and substance abuse specialists addressing the seriously overlooked problem of alcohol use by middle and high school students in Pierce County.
Strategies include:
- Increase awareness of alcohol use by youth and its negative consequences
- Reduce access to alcohol by persons under 21
- Energize families and schools to address the use of alcohol by youth
- Broker resources and information to persons taking action to reduce alcohol use
- Strengthen a county-wide approach to prevent underage drinking by involving: Parents, Youth, Schools, Court System, Law Enforcement, Community Organizations, Local Businesses and Military
